This was my first sock back in 2006!

I started with trying to create a pair of socks for my husband, since he requested a pair back in January. After getting fed up with the complexity of the ones he wanted, I figured I'd try my hand at something a little more simple. Using four dpn's  to make the legging was the easy part. The socks got more complicated when I got to the heel, but after numerous froggings, I got it to work. I used Magic Stripes yarn.

Everyone that knits socks says that although they take a long time to create, they are the most comfortable pair you will ever own.

These projects are some of my first.  For more recent work see ravelry.com.

New site of the week
My husband attended SXSW and discovered a great new stock imagery site. It is called Lucky Oliver and includes thousands of quality stock images. Take a look!

Easy projects you can do in a day

These hand towels are really easy and make great gifts. In fact, I made a set for both my brother & his wife and my in-laws. They are versatile and tough enough to be used as face cloths, hand towels, pot holders, or basically anything you would need a soft, yet durable, knit cloth for. Here, I'm displaying the cream and magenta colored ones I did for my parents.  I'd recommend cotton yarn for this project.

My Favorite Project
This title is a little misleading seeing as how I have several favorite projects. Actually, it seems every new project I take on and am able to complete successfully becomes my favorite. It's a hat I created for a Christmas present for a terminally ill relative. It may not be the prettiest of pieces, but it meant a lot to me at the time and I was happy to give it away. Other projects I've worked on include felted bowls, fingerless gloves, a nice shawl, and a purse. All were exciting to create!
